Monday, May 28

This is just a regular day. We had a short meeting, but I forgot to take a photo.

This is a photo from Chloe, her favourite photo to far.

Friday, May 25 - 27 - Home Visit

Students stayed two nights with Japanese families this weekend.

We walked down to the Senshu campus near Mukogaoka Station.

They looked very nervous while waiting for meeting their host families.

I look forward to read their report about their experience!

Thursday, May 24 - Tour to central Tokyo - Book store

We went to the central Tokyo together. Train comes almost every 3 minutes, we can enjoy a very relaxing trip if we are lucky.

Wednesday, May 23 - Eno Tokyo Museum

Visiting Edo Tokyo Museum

There were exhibitions of lives in Tokyo.
This is School lunch in 1970s (my generation).

This is 2010s.

We took a boat on Sumida River. We didn't see much because it was raining.

Train was extremely busy due to some constructions and an accident. The group was separated but somehow we managed to meet again at Shinjuku Station.

Tuesday, May 22 - Sado

Students experienced "Sado(茶道)".

Monday, May 21 - International House (Day 13)

This photo was taken around 3:00pm. The lounge at International House is usually busy,  however, it was empty when I stopped by on the way back from our meeting. Most of Japanese students have gone to class and the UofC students were busy for doing laundry or homework.

The lounge usually looks like this.

Sunday, May 20 - FREE DAY (11 photos)

This is our first free day. Students enjoyed their free time.

I asked students to send me one best photo that they took so far.

Saturday, May 19 - Kamakura trip

Students headed to Kamakura with Japanese students from Senshu University.

I didn't join any groups this time. I met a couple of groups on the way.

I went to Have Temple to see Hydrangea but it was too early toes full blooms.

Somehow, I always take same photos every year. This is my favourite Jizo in Hase temple.

I walke to Hase to Kamakura this time and found out this soba restaurant.
This is a starter plate.
This is Main meal - Soba and Tempura.

Eno den - train runs through Kamakura. It is a single truck train.

At Kamakura station, I went into a large souvenir shop. He gave me very nice sample soup.
"Where are you from?" He asked.
I said, "I am from Canada."

He started singing "Love letter from Canada.' that is one of most popular songs in 1978.
- you can still sing at Karaoke.

We had a chat and I said that I would head to the Odakyu Line,  Mukogaokayuen station.
Then he said, "Oh, I went up the hill every day, long time ago. It was tiring."

😳

Well, he was a first group of students who studied in the Ikuta Campus of Senshu University.
It was 1971.
It was an interesting day.
